This set of clay figurines was created to highlight the variety of endangered animals. The dark gray, stone-like finish emphasizes the “fossils” they will become if these animals are not helped. I created these pieces during the height of the pandemic at home. I was inspired by the many stories of animals flourishing because of the lack of human activity. I hoped to create meaningful pieces as a call for help for ones that cannot ask themselves.
Este conjunto de figurillas de arcilla se creó para resaltar la variedad de animales en peligro de extinción. El acabado gris oscuro, similar a la piedra, enfatiza los “fósiles” en los que se convertirán si no se ayuda a estos animales. Creé estas piezas durante el apogeo de la pandemia en casa. Me inspiraron las muchas historias de animales que florecían debido a la falta de actividad humana. Esperaba crear piezas significativas como un llamado de ayuda para aquellos que no pueden preguntarse a sí mismos.
